Insulation
Installing insulation is one of the best ways to save on energy costs for heating and cooling your home. Insulation can be installed as ceiling insulation, wall insulation and floor insulation when building a house, or during renovations.
When deciding on what insulation to use, you need to consider the R-value that is recommended for your part of the country. The R-value is a measure of the insulation’s resistance to heat flow, both inwards and outwards. The R-value recommended for ceilings is usually about twice that of walls. Insulation must also comply with fire safety standards, and the lower the rating, the safer the material is. Low allergen insulation products available if you have asthma or allergy sufferers in your home.
